The section FROM THE ARCHIVE first appeared around the beginning of 1974, when Romania was preparing for the celebration of three decades since 23 August 1944 (socialist Romania’s National Day). The establishing of this section marked the moment when the newsreel started to acknowledge its own history and legacy by incorporating, in the present of the 1970s, material filmed for the newsreel after 23 august 1944.
